Lightsaber: First test

I wanted to try something new in Maya, so I learned how to create neon effects originally in 3D text. However, me being a huge star wars fan, this quickly evolved into me trying to make lightsabers. I began by designing my own lightsaber hilt taking inspiration and elements from Luke's, Vader's, Anakin's and Obi-Wan's saber hilts whilst adding my own twists to the mix such as the window on the back of the Hilt, and a mini- Tokamak plasma condenser inside the hilt which would feed plasma to the Kyber crystal to produce a scientifically sound blade. Most frames were kept dark in terms of illumination precisely so that the saber would stand out more.

Overall, i am very pleased with the end result and Im currently working on a 3D personal project, trying to replicate movie props from the prequel trilogy of Star Wars.
